While our heroes may argue in their latest outing, the cinematic comic book universe they created provides ample inspiration for how we can assemble the forces of good in an effort to improve and redefine government work. When I first started my career in state government I heard a lot about how we were held back by a culture that tended to work in silos. As a newbie I'm having a hard time understanding what exactly this means and why it's important outside of the Department of Agriculture anyway. Additionally our agency leverages support and resources from these various sources to complete improvement projects in many different areas from human resources to information technology but often at an agency-specific level. Overall cross-agency communication and coordination may be limited in our day-to-day work.
